Pelican Sands is nestled on the waterfront in the heart of the magnificent north east coast of Tasmania right on the beachfront at the mouth of the Scamander River. As well as our Studios & Apartments on site, we are now delighted to be able to provide the "Pelican House" for your enjoyment.

"Pelican House" is located literally on the waterfront with the stunning ocean views and sleeps 9 comfortably in a 4 bedroom house. Big lounges to relax on, large deck with lots of outdoor seating. Air-conditioning and loads of seating for everyone! 3 queen beds and 2 singles. Full kitchen with oven and microwave. Large walk in shower, 3 person spa with massage jets! Scamander is located on the southern tip of the Bay of Fires with the beauty of Binnalong Bay and just north of Bicheno & Swansea, the area abounds in natural delights and some truly breathtaking scenery. Scamander is an ideal location to base yourself and enjoy day trips to the many surrounding areas of interest.

Scamander is a peaceful escape with miles of pristine white sandy beaches with clean, clear turquoise waters to enjoy. You can stroll along the beach, have a picnic, surf or swim, fish explore the many National Parks nearby or just curl up with a book and relax.

For those who enjoy fishing, the Scamander River has a reputation for excellent bream fishing with salmon and many flathead caught off the beach.

Day trips which are an easy drive and will take you through some lovely countryside, visit Pyengana Cheese Factory, taste some award winning cheeses, marvel at some stunning waterfalls and enjoy the many walks in the National Parks. Perhaps a round of golf at our local club or enjoy the waterfront reserves and well marked walking tracks to view the abundant birdlife on the waterfront.

Our Waterfront Spa Studio, Retro Beachfront, Queen Studios & Waterfront 2 bedroom apartments are tastefully refurbished, clean and comfortable and provide affordable accommodation for families and all are fully self contained offering a home away from home. The Spa Studio, Queen Studios and 2 Bedroom Apartments enjoy stunning panoramic water views across the waterfront, each with it's own private.deck. We have beautiful bedlinen (ironed sheets), oversized doonas & soft towels with quality self catering facilities, complimentary BBQ's & guests laundry..

The grounds are spacious and landscaped, just stroll across the lawn and you are on the sand., BBQ’s for our guests and picnic tables right on the waterfront.
