Terms & Conditions

CHECK-IN
Check-in time is any time after 2 PM. If you arrive earlier we will be pleased to allow earlier check in should the room be ready, or store your luggage until you can check in. We are currently closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (though the office is usually manned during the day), please call us on 0896411884 if you plan to arrive on those days so that we can arrange to meet you, or arrange for a key to be left out for you. There is also a doorbell on the front of the Tavern that you can ring when checking in during our closed times. Guests will be required to present a valid credit/debit card upon check-in along with a valid form of identification. “Settlers House York” will make every effort to honour special requests (such as a specific floor or room number, adjoining rooms, roll-away beds etc.) upon your arrival. However, the availability of these items cannot be guaranteed in advance. The hotel reserves all rights to refuse service to any guests of the hotel who do not follow or comply with hotel policies.
* We will do our best to ensure you have the most suitable room for your stay, but as we are a small business, we cannot guarantee availability for special requests, and the room type may vary slightly.

CHECK-OUT
Check-out is by 10 AM. If you require a later check-out, please discuss this with us and we will do our best to accommodate your request. A charge may apply, depending on availability. Keys can be left in the letter box located to the left of the front doors of the main Hotel building.

SMOKING POLICIES
Smoking is strictly prohibited in all rooms. Should the room be left smelling of smoke you will be charged a $150 cleaning fee.

AGE RESTRICTIONS
Guests must be 18 years or older to check in without a parent or legal guardian.

NO IN-ROOM PARTY POLICY
“Settlers House York” enforces a NO IN-ROOM PARTY POLICY to ensure we can protect the hotel and our guests at all times. In the event of a disturbance one warning will be given to reduce noise. If this warning is not followed, the guest will forfeit all fees and must leave the hotel immediately.

PETS
No pets are permitted in the rooms, unless they are a medical necessity such as a guide dog. Please advise us in advance if you need to bring you assistance pet with you, and provide proof of such medical necessity prior to your arrival.

Payment Policy

In order to secure a booking, a valid credit or debit card number is required at the time of booking. Settlers House York will usually charge your card prior to arrival in order to confirm your booking, and we reserve the right to cancel your booking if payment can not be made prior to your arrival. A 1.5% Surcharge will be applied to all card payments. If paying by bank transfer, this must be done shortly after booking, and prior to the reservation date unless otherwise agreed. If choosing this option, this would be arranged at the time of booking, and payment can be made into the following account:

Cancellation Policy

All bookings are non-refundable, and payment will be charged at any time from the booking date until the date of arrival. In the event of cancellation, 100% of the amount of the booking will be taken upon cancellation if payment hasn't already been received, and in the event of a "no show" your card will be charged 100% of the booking on the day of or shortly after the reservation date.

* Should Government enforced restrictions be in place to prevent you travelling to York due to Covid-19, we are happy to provide a full refund, or amend the booking to another suitable date. Please note that if you are attending an event nearby that gets cancelled, but you are still permitted to travel, no refund will be payable.
