Motel & Villa Guidelines and Information

Arrival time: Accommodation may be occupied as a soon as available after 2pm. Late arrivals can be pre-arranged by phoning 86261126.

Check out time: BEFORE 10:00am, on departure rooms should be left tidy with dishes washed, dried, and put away. A cleaning fee will apply for excess mess.
Reception hours: Normal operation hours are 8am-8pm, 7 days a week by phone system in office.

Forms of payment: Payment is accepted by cash, Visa, Mastercard, Eftpos, and Amex. Purchase Orders will be accepted with approval from management. All prices quoted are in Australian dollars, are inclusive of GST and are subject to change without notice due to seasonal and other variations.

Allocations: Due to variations to reservations, specific room or villa allocations cannot be guaranteed.

Cancellations: All cancellations must be advised in writing (e.g., by email) before any refund can be considered. During quieter periods there will be no charge* for cancellations 72hours before arrival. Cancellations less than 72 hours prior to arrival will forfeit the deposit*.
*All Refunds and Cancellation charges will be at the discretion of management and may incur an admin fee of $30.
Peak time non-refundable bookings strictly mean non-refundable. Any different cancellation policies for busier times you will be advised of at the time of booking. Reservations cancelled, cut short or altered at the commencement of or during occupancy do not qualify for any refund. Non-arrivals or guests who fail to notify of cancellations will forfeit the monies paid.

Deposits: During peak times and on occasions advised by Management a deposit is required to secure the reservation.
Final Payment-Balance of monies is due and payable on arrival, including full payment for any additional persons and/or nights.

Damages/Loss: All registered guests shall be liable for any loss or damage to the appliances, furniture, keys, fixtures, and fittings in the accommodation. Fair wear and tear excluded. A fee will be charged if excessive cleaning is required after departure.

Emergencies: In an emergency go to the managers residence (20 Alfred Terrace, directly across the road from the Shell Roadhouse) or use the phone system. A Streaky Bay Motel & Villas representative is accessible 24 hours a day for emergencies only. Alternatively, the local Police 86261003.

Pets: PETS ARE STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED IN THE ROOMS, anyone disobeying this (except seeing eye dogs) will be asked to leave the motel, without refund of fees, and may be required to pay an extra cleaning fee. Possible exceptions for outdoor pets at our discretion.

BBQ Area, Pool and Spa room are STRICTLY for paying guests only: Sorry no visitors to these areas as it is unfair to other patrons. Patrons may have visitors back to their rooms or villas but must depart by 10:30pm. Visitors must park outside of motel grounds. Excessive numbers of people, noise, intoxicated behaviour, offensive language and/or behaviour is not acceptable and offending persons will be required to leave immediately without refund of fees.
This of course means that parties are not allowed. Management may in the event of failure to comply with these conditions, eject you and all other persons from the premises. No refund of tariff will be given in these circumstances.

Strictly no cleaning of fish or shellfish in accommodation:
Use the fish cleaning facilities located at the back of the premises. Please leave this area clean and tidy when finished. If fishing the next day, please take offal with you to use as berley.

Motel rooms and Villas are not serviced daily: Services are on the eighth day of your stay. Contact reception if you require clean towels. Spare toilet paper and tissues are kept in the laundry should you run out.

Rubbish: Please dispose of all general rubbish in the red lid bins, cardboard in the trailer, bottles & cans in the recycling bins. Located at the back of the property near the fish cleaning area before departure.

Pool & Spa are seasonal and will be closed during quieter times: For pool & spa daily, opening times please check with reception. Young children must always be supervised. No eating in pool room permitted, plastic cups are provided in your accommodation to be used in the pool room as glass is strictly prohibited in the area. Lights for the pool room and BBQ area are on an automatic timer. Please make sure you are packed up and ready to leave this area before the lights go out (approximately 10:30pm).

BBQ Area: Available for use by all patrons, please leave clean and tidy and be aware of noise later at night offending other patrons. Remember to turn gas off at the wall when finished cooking.

Laundry: Available for all patrons to use and is located next to the pool and spa building. (Gold coin operated)

Car parking: Each Villa and Motel room has one carpark, please park extra vehicles, trailers, or boats in the back parking area of the premises. Driveways must always be kept clear.

Car washing: Please do not wash your cars on our establishment; there is a coin operated car wash on Mudge Terrace.

Continental breakfast packs: Available to purchase from the reception.

Looking for something to read: Second-hand books and magazines are in the laundry. Magazines are free, but please either swap your old book or leave a gold coin donation in your room.

Smoke Detectors: Must be left in working order. It is an offence to decommission or interfere with them. All buildings at Streaky Bay Motel & Villas and Agave House are non-smoking. By law, it is prohibited to smoke inside or within 5 metres of any public building.

Linen: The tariffs quoted include linen for each bed booked and paid for.

Left behinds: Please make sure and check you have not left anything behind in your room on departure, anything left behind is not the responsibility of the establishment.

Force Majeure: Very rarely, in circumstances of 'force majeure' as defined in the clause below, we may have to cancel your booking. We will tell you as soon as possible and offer you an alternative or a full refund. We regret we cannot pay compensation or any reimbursement of any expenses or costs you may incur because of any such cancellation or change. Streaky Bay Motel & Villas cannot accept responsibility or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of the contract is prevented or affected by reason of circumstances which amount to 'force majeure'. Circumstances include the destruction or damage of your accommodation (which cannot be reasonably remedied to a satisfactory standard before the start of your holiday), through fire, flood, explosion, storm, or other weather damage, break-in, criminal damage, riots or civil strife, industrial action, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, war or threat of war, actual or threatened terrorist activity, epidemic and all similar situations beyond our control.
