Welcome to a special place in Dunedin. Relax in our European style family run boutique Hotel close to inner city amenities. Extensive renovations have been done to this former Christian Brothers 1920’s stately residence transforming it into elegant heritage accommodation with lots of character, 15 bedrooms and all with tiled en suites.
The Brothers offers a mixture of convenience, history, charm, elegance and tranquillity, with the building retaining much of it’s original grandeur.
The Hotel offers bed and breakfast and is well situated being only a 6 minute walk (downhill) to the city centre, restaurants and bars and about 10 minutes back (uphill). There are unequalled spectacular views of the city and harbour from the 4 superior balcony rooms. The hotel is also centrally heated throughout and has great off street car parking for 15 vehicles.
There is a charming guest lounge giving an opportunity to mix with other Guests. There is also free Wi-Fi throughout the Hotel (uncapped), a separate breakfast room, laundry service and a tour desk. A welcoming drink is also served in the early evening in the main Guest lounge
We should also add this is not your typical standard New Zealand Hotel. The intention during the refurbishment was to be sympathetic to the buildings history so the original foot print was retained to ensure the original charm and character remained. As a result some will consider some of the rooms are small. They are however generally typical of the size often found in European Cities. As a Guest once said on Trip Advisor "Travellers looking for a cookie cutter, mundane hotel, should not consider The Brothers. This is a lovingly and elegantly restored building with a charming and helpful host. Centrally located, it is a quick walk to wonderful restaurants and the postcard pretty railway station."

A credit card is required to secure the booking. No charge will be taken at the time of the booking.
The Brothers is strictly a non smoking Hotel including all indoor areas, car park and grounds. There is however one designated area on the ground floor balcony area where smoking is permitted and ashtrays provided. Smoking in your room will incur cleaning costs and may also include a call out fee from the Fire Service
There will be a small charge in the event of the loss of your room key. Any damage found to be the responsibility of the Guest will incur all fair and reasonable charges for replacement and or repairs including collection costs.

Payment Policy
A credit card is required to secure the booking. No charge will be taken at the time of the booking.
Cancellation Policy
Because of our size cancellations made within 7 days to 48 hours before commencement of stay will incur a 50% charge of all room nights booked. Bookings cancelled less than 48 hours before commencement of stay will incur 100% charge for all room nights booked. If the rooms are able to be rebooked then charge will not apply.
