AZABU is a blend of boutique accommodation and tranquil Day Spa retreat. You’ll find our holiday sanctuary nestled in a breathtaking slice of east coast Australian hinterland, just five minutes drive from Byron Bay’s famous beaches and attractions.
AZABU is an idyllic, romantic retreat for couples, offering privacy, relaxation and a dash of indulgence. AZABU has been created for couples seeking a grown-up getaway, secluded honeymoon destination, nature retreat or some well deserved time for "Re-Creation", a world away from the stresses of city life.
Staying in one of only five boutique guesthouse suites, elevated above ancient hoop-pine forest, you’ll enjoy stunning views, privacy and the tranquility of our natural surroundings. Each studio-style room is fully equipped with creature comforts and modern amenities. We are an 18+ property in a retreat-like atmosphere for both singles and couples. Bookings with children under 18 years are not accepted.
If rest and relaxation are your priority, we encourage our guests to wander with new awareness, through the native gardens, nestled in the soothing and sacred hoop-pine forest for perfect peace.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at Azabu Retreat & Spa, Byron Bay.
CHECK-IN from 2:00 pm (NSW).
CHECK-OUT time is 10.00AM. A late check-out may be available on request: 11:00 am check-out $30, 12:00 pm check-out $70. A late fee of $70.00 will be charged for non-prearranged check outs after 10:00 am.
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY - When you make a booking, you accept on behalf of your party the terms of these booking conditions.
It is a condition of your stay on this property that you must provide a valid credit card at time of check in. Your credit card details are collected for security, incidentals and any add-on items to your room. AZABU reserves the right to refuse entry of any person without a valid credit card. We reserve the right to charge your card should any security issues and/or incidentals arise.
No cancellations are accepted on the day of arrival or after check in. You will be charged for the total of your reserved stay under all circumstances.
A fee of $30 will be charged for each key not returned at check out. Damages and/or Missing Items will be charged to your account. You may also be charged for any damages to the general property itself. SMOKING IN ROOMS IS NOT PERMITTED – OR A $300 FEE WILL BE CHARGED.
Please be aware of noise as Azabu Retreat is a QUIET property. Please avoid loud conversations at night, especially on balconies and around the pool. Late night noise complaints incur a $100 charge if other guests or managers are disturbed.
Please be aware that our on site Day Spa has a 48-hour NO cancellation policy. Should you decide to make a Day Spa booking you accept our cancellation policy.

All bookings must be paid 14 days prior to arrival, except Non-refundable Rates, which are to be paid at the time of booking.
Day Spa - Booking Policy: All appointments need to be guaranteed with a 50% deposit at the time of booking. If paying by Gift Voucher, please quote your Gift Voucher number when booking.
Politique d'annulation
Please note that date changes will be accepted and payment will be refunded in the event of cancellation where 14 days or more notice is provided. All cancellations will incur a $25.00 fee to cover administration & credit card fees. We will try our best to accommodate any changes, however it is always subject to availability. If less than 14 days notice is provided, no refund will be given and no changes will be accepted.
Please note that cancellations are NOT accepted for Holiday Periods (i.e. 20th December to 26th January, Easter/Bluesfest Weekend, Splendour Music Festival Weekend as well as all Long Weekends. During these times there will be no refunds given in the event of cancellation.
BOOKING THROUGH A THIRD PARTY OR ANOTHER WEBSITE eg Booking.com, Wotif, Agoda, Expedia, Hotels etc:
You will need to contact them directly as each agent or booking site has different cancellation procedures. If AZABU is involved in changing or cancellation of an agent’s booking, a $25 fee applies to cover administration and credit card fees.
DAY SPA BOOKINGS We do understand that sometimes you are unable to keep your appointment. If you would like to cancel your booking please provide us at least 48 hours notice. If you wish reschedule or modify your appointment, please call us at least 48 hours in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you. If you are late for your appointment the treatment time we have reserved for you will be reduced and the full treatment amount will still apply.
All no shows will be charged at full value. To ensure your booking fee is refundable, you are required to notify us at least 48 hours before your treatment. Treatment modifications are subject to availability.
