Stannum House
Just 20Km south of the NSW border in Tenterfield, with quick and easy access to the delights of the Granite Belt wineries, Stannum House is a magnificent, beautifully-restored Victorian Italianate mansion where you can step back in time and enjoy the opulence of another era.
The four original bedrooms are used for B&B accommodation. Each has its own private bathroom, and its own individual charm. The rooms have ornate artwork decorating the walls and ceilings, and the original Italian marble fireplaces (although these are not in use because of Insurance restrictions).
There is a guests' kitchen upstairs with tea and coffee making facilities, and a separate TV room with a large flat-screen set.
The formal dining, drawing and morning rooms are packed with Victorian era furniture and fittings, and have been graced by famous Australians such as Sir Henry Parkes, Banjo Paterson and Dame Nellie Melba. All timber, including the unique spiral staircase leading to the attic and roof garden, is red cedar, with the exception of the Kauri Pine floors.

Sleep in the Reids own bedroom! With both a king-sized and a queen-sized bed, this room sleeps up to four people, and was built on a grand scale, in keeping with the rest of the house. It is situated in the north-west corner of the house, away from the road, and has an ensuite bathroom. There is a common guests kitchen with tea and coffee making facilities, and a separate TV room with a large flat-screen set.

This beautiful big room is on the south-east corner of the house, and is light and airy, with a Juliet balcony overlooking the main road. There is a queen-sized bed and two singles, so it is ideal for families. The mirror over the marble fireplace was in the house when it was first built in 1888. Depending on which other rooms are booked, guests have the use of either an upstairs bathroom, or the downstairs bathroom pictured. There is a common kitchen with tea and coffee making facilities, and a separate TV room with a large flat-screen set.

If you cancel your booking giving us two week’s notice, there will be a full refund.
If you cancel within between two weeks and two days, we will attempt to resell the room. If we resell the room, then there will be a full refund. If we are unable to resell the room, then we will refund 50% of the room rate.
If you cancel within two days of the booked date, or if you do not arrive, no refund will be given.
