We’re just back from a perfect three day break at Turtle Bay Lodge in COVID-free Santo, Vanuatu. We stayed in one of the lovely, new desert safari “marquees”. The four poster bed, a/c, French press coffee and indoor/outdoor bathroom was a million miles from any kind of “camping” we’ve tried before. And the direct view over the bay was beautiful.
The food in the restaurant is easily the best available on Santo right now. And the veggie options are worth a detour even if you’re not staying there.
We kayaked round the bay, did some snorkeling and had a couple of great days out to the world class (and in 2020, entirely empty..) beaches at Port Olry and Champagne Beach. Definitely worth hiring a car if you want to make the most of these trip options.
Hats off to owners Matt and Lou for keeping the resort open and looking so lovely despite the impact of COVID and TC Harold. Although we were there as a couple and delighted by the peace and quiet, I know they also love having families with children, especially any who are up for learning a few circus skills. Yes, really..

WOW!!
I have only great things to say about Turtle Bay Lodge. The location is awesome with the ocean on one side and a calmer “bay” on the other. The snorkelling is fantastic and I saw coral and fish that I hadn’t seen before. The rooms are large, comfortable and spotless with a back and front door to allow the sea breeze through. The staff are friendly, helpful and just make you feel at home. Always ready to give local advice and suggest things for you to do, from the owner down. We had a fantastic time here and would recommend it to anyone.
And the food - I cannot say enough. The new chef needs to stay!!! The best seafood risotto I have ever had!! Every meal we had was delicious.

Located on the point between Turtle Bay and Peterson Bay, you'll find water views wherever you look at Turtle Bay Lodge. There’s the ocean in one direction, with the delightful Turtle Island beckoning. And there’s the bay in the other direction, which frequently glasses off so there’s not even a ripple to be seen – a breathtaking sight.
Turtle Bay Lodge is the perfect place for those that love snorkelling, kayaking, paddleboarding, walking and the chance to really get away from it all. It’s a great base from which to explore the island of Espiritu Santo. Cars can be hired for the lodge to see the island at your own pace.
It’s also an excellent place to just kick back and relax – you don’t need to go anywhere when you have a delightful swimming pool, a great reef for snorkelling and a peaceful bay for swimming right on your doorstep!

CHECK IN is available after 2pm however if the rooms are ready you are more than welcome to check in earlier. Please contact the office to arrange check in after 9pm.
CHECK OUT is at 11am however if it doesn't infringe on other bookings coming in then we can always accommodate a late check out to suit.
Payment Policy
Rates are tax inclusive per room and are charged in Vatu (VUV - Vanuatu Currency).
To hold and confirm a booking, a 50% deposit is required which is then part of your accommodation payment.
Upon check out, the guest settles a single bill that includes accommodation, all restaurant meals and activities. Payment methods include cash or credit card.
A 3.5% surcharge is applied to all Visa MasterCard, & American Express payments.
Guests may elect to pay cash for their restaurant meals on a daily basis, however it is a requirement that one method or the other is chosen - either cash daily, or one final account upon check-out.
Cancellation Policy
From the date of booking , 50% of the booking will be charged.
Within 7 days of arrival or in the event of a no show, the entire booking will be charged.
Payments are non refundable. As a small, independent property, we ask for your understanding in respecting our cancellation, change and no-show policy.
